Ron concentrates his practice on real estate matters, including zoning, planning and land development across most of central and eastern Pennsylvania. He has handled a wide range of real estate issues from planning to entitlements and acquisitions for commercial, industrial, institutional and residential projects. On large projects, Ron has helped to solve problems and overcome government hurdles to achieve his clients’ objectives.
Ron has served as special counsel for numerous municipalities and has represented clients in more than 29 Pennsylvania counties, before state regulatory agencies and before all appellate courts in Pennsylvania. He successfully tried the longest construction case against the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania before the Board of Claims, and was also successful in obtaining one of only two exemptions from local business privilege taxes authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.
He has written and lectured on land use issues for over 30 years to attorneys and local officials at various organizations, including the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the former Department of Community Affairs and the Pennsylvania Planning Association. Ron is a member of the Legal Action Network for Development Strategies of the National Association of Homebuilders. He is a former Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Municipal Law Section.
He was named to The Best Lawyers in America, 2007 through 2014 editions, in the area of Land Use and Zoning Law. As published in Philadelphia magazine, Ron repeatedly has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer in the areas of Land Use and Zoning Law since the publication's inception in 2004, including for 2013, by being selected by his peers as among the top 5 percent of lawyers in the Commonwealth. He was also named a "Mover and Shaker" in Business Advocacy and Law in 2007 by the Central Penn Business Journal.
