[]  Leonard P. Goldberger Presents at the Strategic Foreign Investment Forum


PHILADELPHIA, PA, and NEW YORK, November 18, 2009  –  Leonard P. Goldberger, Esquire, a Stevens & Lee shareholder, addressed The Strategic Foreign Investment Forum for Overseas Returnee Enterprises, in Guangzhou, China, on November 6, 2009. The event was co-sponsored by The Guangzhou Municipal Government and The Guangzhou Chamber of Commerce of Chinese Returnees.

Mr. Goldberger presented on opportunities for acquiring financially distressed businesses and assets out of U.S. bankruptcy cases. He noted that the hundreds of new business bankruptcy cases being filed each week in the U.S. represent viable business opportunities for Chinese investors looking to enter the U.S. market.

Leonard P. Goldberger has over 33 years of experience practicing business bankruptcy law. He works with domestic and foreign investors in the acquisition and financing of financially distressed businesses and represents insurers in asbestos, mass tort and environmental bankruptcy cases.

A former Vice President, Director and Executive Committee member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Mr. Goldberger was also the Chair of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Insurance Coverage Subcommittee on Insolvency, and a member of the ABA’s Litigation Section and its Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section.

Mr. Goldberger has lectured and written extensively on bankruptcy law topics and currently serves on the editorial board of the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal. He has appeared as a guest commentator on CourtTV.

Mr. Goldberger is an INSOL International Global Insolvency Fellow and was a member of the inaugural 2008 class.

Mr. Goldberger received a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and a B.A., summa cum laude, from Temple University.
