PHILADELPHIA, PA, JUNE 13, 2012 – Stevens & Lee Shareholder William W. Uchimoto participated in the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Super Regional Conference May 31 to June 2, 2012 in Atlantic City, NJ.
Mr. Uchimoto participated on the panel “Tips, Tricks and Traps in Doing Business Abroad,” where he spoke about legal services and capital markets transactions as they relate to servicing cross-border U.S./China transactions.
Mr. Uchimoto is a prominent advisor to Chinese companies seeking to become U.S. public companies and helps establish their listings on U.S. securities exchanges. He is a leading legal authority on securities, regulatory and compliance matters and concentrates his practice in securities exchange, broker-dealer and investment advisory regulation and compliance. He represents broker-dealers, investment advisors, securities exchanges, hedge funds, public and private companies and other financial market participants in various transactions and regulatory matters.
In 2009, he was recognized as among the “Diversity Attorneys of the Year” by the Legal Intelligencer. He is a former adjunct faculty member at Rutgers School of Law-Camden and Temple University.
Mr. Uchimoto is a faculty member of the International Law Institute and a graduate of the Securities Industry Institute of the Wharton School and Securities Industry Association. He is a former co-chairman of the Minorities in the Profession Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association and served as co-chair of the Sponsorship Committee of the 2006 National Convention of the National Asian Pacific Bar Association. He is also a member of the Advisory Committee of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
He holds a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of Law and a B.A. from the University of California at Davis.
