| We assist clients in managing the implementation of preventative measures including the design,
preparation and review of environmental policies and development of compliance plans. Our
lawyers are consulted in the context of mergers and acquisitions, corporate
reorganizations, relocations and plant closings, real estate transactions, lender
liability issues, and environmental criminal liability and environmental
criminal defense. We also serve as counsel to
numerous clients regarding Brownfields and Act 2 matters, waste management,
air quality issues, storage tank
issues and water pollution control and wetlands. Known for our ability to develop and
implement litigation strategies with our clients' objectives in mind, we approach each
case as unique and equally important, whether it's a small clean-up issue or a complex
dispute. Our client base comes from diverse industries with one thing in common — a need for high-caliber lawyers who concentrate solely on environmental issues affecting businesses and organizations. We
recently represented a Pennsylvania county in the acquisition and characterization of an
abandoned industrial facility for redevelopment as an emergency management training
facility and assisted them in securing an Industrial Site Reuse (ISRP) Grant to cover 75%
of the site characterization expense; represented a large regional bank in environmental
issues resulting from the bank's purchase of hundreds of branch offices in New England;
counseled a Fortune 500 company pursuing insurance coverage for contaminated environmental
sites in a recovery of insurance proceeds totaling $18 million; and represented a
coalition of agricultural concerns with respect to the Pennsylvania Department of
Environmental Protection and the Environmental Protection Agency's proposed animal feeding
operation requirements under the Clean Water Act. |
