John focuses his practice on municipal law and government affairs. He represents municipalities and municipal authorities, including housing, redevelopment, convention center, solid waste, stadium, health care and transit projects, and school districts and colleges in financing public projects along with private company transactions qualifying for tax-favored or other governmental financing.

John also represents German and Swiss businesses in the United States in commercial and contracting matters, and American clients in various European nations. He is fluent in German and has taught German language courses at the University of Notre Dame.
