Susan has over 25 years of experience working as a registered nurse and consultant, and is a recognized expert in bariatrics, skin and wound care and surgical patient care. She lectures internationally on the interdisciplinary and organizational approach to bariatrics.

Susan has appeared in television, radio and video presentations and has published more than 85 articles related to obesity, outcomes, ethics and culture. In 2005, she was honored with the Lippincott Manuscript Award for her article, Shedding Weight with Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery, a continuing education study.
