Alan focuses his
practice on managed health care issues and represents health care
providers such as hospitals and physicians, as well as provider networks, disease management companies and PHOs.
He has also represented institutional,
entrepreneurial and provider-driven organizations including HMOs and PPOs.
Alan is recognized as an expert in negotiating provider agreements
and developing cutting-edge compensation methodologies. He also assists
clients in capital formation and the purchase, sale and development of
joint ventures in the managed care field. Most recently, he represented
a privately held HMO in its sale to a publicly traded managed care
company. He has
represented some of the nation's largest and most recognized managed
care organizations.
Alan speaks and writes extensively on a wide range of managed care
topics and has presented on behalf of the American Accreditation
Health Care Commission/URAC, the American Association of Health Plans
and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute's annual Health Law Institute. He launched his career with the General Counsel's Office of
the Health Care Financing Administration of the U.S. Department of
Health and Human Services.
