Bill has practiced labor and employment
law for over 30 years. He started his career as an attorney with the
Philadelphia Regional Office of the National Labor Relations Board, then
accepted a position as labor counsel for Bangor Punta Corporation, a
large national company at that time.
Bill focuses his practice on employment
discrimination litigation in both federal and state courts, NLRB
matters, and labor arbitrations under collective bargaining
agreements. The employment litigation clients Bill represents include
a number of large national corporations, such as Reliant Energy,
Marriott International, Inc., FirstEnergy (GPU Companies), Federal
Mogul, John Hancock Life Insurance Company and John Hancock Financial
Services, Prudential Financial and SAP America,
Inc. He has handled well over one hundred labor arbitrations through
the years for numerous employers including the GPU Companies, the
Delaware River Port Authority, Federal Mogul, Marriott International,
Inc., The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Penn Jersey Paper Company, Piper Aircraft Corporation, and Beef
International Corp. Bill litigated unit clarification petitions for
Pennsylvania Power & Light, Met Ed and Penelec before the NLRB,
prevailing in the exclusion of System/Distribution Operators from the
bargaining units for each of these clients.
Bill has represented management in organizational drives involving
many clients, including Aydin Corporation, Sylvin Technologies, Inc.,
Lutheran Church of America, Beef International Corp., Ceramet, Inc.,
the Delaware River Port Authority, John Hancock Life Insurance
Company, Smith & Wesson, Piper Aircraft Corporation, Bangor Punta
Marine (decertification) and Penn Jersey Paper Company. He has also
handled collective bargaining negotiations for numerous companies and
advised the GPU Companies over the years in connection with collective
bargaining negotiations.
