Dean acts as debtor's counsel for closely held corporations in Chapter 11 bankruptcies as well as counsel for creditors' committees and Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 trustees. He also represents various creditors in the defense of preferences and in objections to claims issues.

Dean is a former recipient of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) Medal of Excellence. While in law school, he served as Editor-in-Chief of the ABI Law Review.
