Mark concentrates his practice in the representation of clients in connection with
mergers, acquisitions and strategic tax planning. In addition to being a lawyer and a tax
strategist, he is a
licensed Certified Public Accountant and an NASD-licensed Series 7
registered representative. He is experienced in planning and structuring
captive insurance companies, including structuring for tax domicile,
state premium tax issues, structuring regarding profit allocation and
GAAP issues and treatment.
Mark also specializes in state and local income tax issues, including
multi-state apportionment, nexus issues and consulting for
company-specific issues.
Prior to joining Stevens & Lee, Mark served as a National Tax - Product Development Manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in Washington, D.C.,
where he was responsible for conceiving creative corporate tax planning
strategies to minimize tax liability, analyzing technical tax strategies
for Fortune 500 companies in connection with building their e-commerce
initiative and building programs to develop sales strategies.
Mark was a law clerk in the U.S. Attorneys Office in Lubbock, Texas.
