Our Summer Associate Program is our most important source for new associates.  Although some firms hire many summer associates and plan to offer jobs to a few, we hire just a few with the intention of offering positions within the firm to many.

We have high expectations for our summer associates. Our summer program gives us the opportunity to evaluate the skills of developing soon-to-be lawyers in a realistic work environment. Our summer associates perform real work on real cases and are expected to really contribute to get the job done. Participants in our summer program work on matters similar to those allocated to associates.

Summer associates assist our attorneys in research and drafting documents and in otherwise addressing client needs. Generally, summer associates are introduced to a variety of attorneys, practice groups and industry focus groups.

Participants with well-defined goals, however, may concentrate their work in a chosen area. For example, summer associates working on corporate-oriented projects will be exposed to drafting and negotiations, while those involved with litigation will gain familiarity with court proceedings.
