Leonard P. Goldberger Presents at the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section’s Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee Program
VALLEY FORGE, PA, February 26, 2015 – Leonard P. Goldberger, a Shareholder with Stevens & Lee, presented at the American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section’s 23rd Annual Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee Midyear Program held February 19–21, 2015, in Phoenix, AZ.
In his presentation “Settling Insurance Coverage Disputes in the Context of Bankruptcy Cases,” Mr. Goldberger provided insurers with strategies and techniques for negotiating favorable and effective settlements of insurance coverage disputes in bankruptcy proceedings and with post-bankruptcy trusts.
Mr. Goldberger has nearly 40 years of experience in business bankruptcy law. He represents insurers in asbestos, mass tort and environmental bankruptcy cases and works with foreign and domestic investor clients in the acquisition and financing of financially-distressed businesses. Among his notable clients are Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, ACE Group, Chartis Insurance, American International Group and Travelers.
A former Vice President, Director and Executive Committee member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Mr. Goldberger has also been Chair of the American Bar Association’s Committee on Insurance Coverage Subcommittee on Insolvency and is a member of the ABA’s Litigation Section and its Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section. He is also a member of INSOL International and is an INSOL International Global Insolvency Fellow.
Mr. Goldberger lectures and writes extensively on bankruptcy law and China-related topics and has served as a contributing editor on the editorial boards of the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal and INSOL World. For the last 10 years, Mr. Goldberger has given programs on insurance and policyholder bankruptcies at the Insurance Society of Philadelphia.
He received a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and a B.A., summa cum laude, from Temple University.
