William A. DeStefano and Terri A. Pawelski Join Stevens & Lee

DeStefano to Chair White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice

PHILDELPHIA, PA, January 29, 2012 – Stevens & Lee announced today that William A. DeStefano and Terri A. Pawelski have joined the firm’s White Collar Defense and Investigations practice and will be resident in its Philadelphia office. Mr. DeStefano brings 40 years of experience in white collar defense and investigations and will chair the white collar team at Stevens & Lee.

Mr. DeStefano has defended corporations and individuals against criminal investigations and indictments, and has represented clients in a complete range of commercial civil cases, including antitrust and trade regulation litigation. He has tried well over 100 criminal and civil cases to verdict over the last 40 years, primarily in the federal and state courts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

Before entering private practice, he served for six years as a trial attorney with the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is regularly appointed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania to represent indigent defendants charged with serious federal offenses. Mr. DeStefano received a J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law and a B.S. from Villanova University.

Ms. Pawelski focuses her practice on defending individuals and companies in criminal investigations. She has been involved in the defense of more than 100 criminal investigations and indictments in federal and state courts in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Ms. Pawelski received a J.D. from Boston University School of Law and a B.A. from Dickinson College.

Because of their favorable history in obtaining not guilty verdicts at trial, the team has been very successful in resolving criminal investigations on favorable terms for its clients.
