Renenger\u00a0of SES ESOP Strategies presented at the 2021 ElevateAEC Conference &amp; Awards Gala, held in-person at the Hyatt Regency Denver from November 3-5, 2021.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Renenger was joined by Will Swearingen, Director of Ownership Transition at Zweig Group, and Larry Zucchino, Chairman of JDAVIS Architects, in presenting &#8220;Building a Strong Legacy.&#8221; Business owners can choose various paths for exiting or achieving liquidity from their business \u2013 the presentation explored various ownership transfer options and the value each can provide, the benefits of an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) for employees and employers alike, and the types of businesses that are best suited to pursue ESOP opportunities.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As President and CEO of SES ESOP Strategies and Co-Chair of the ESOP Group and the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group at Stevens &amp; Lee, Mr. Renenger advises business owners on how to sell their companies to employees through an ESOP and provides guidance across the entirety of the process \u2013 from feasibility assessments and establishing stakeholder structures to transactions and ongoing company administration.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Renenger also advises other ESOP-related transactions, including situations where ESOP-owned companies sell to outside buyers when they have determined that exiting the ESOP structure is appropriate for shareholders. He has particular experience working with ESOPs for financial institutions, such as community banks looking to an ESOP as a source of liquidity for founding shareholders and insurance companies who establish an ESOP in conjunction with a demutualization.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When not working with ESOPs, Ed advises clients on the structure and compliance of defined benefit pension plans and defined contribution plans, including 401(k) plans, especially in complex matters involving the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Labor and the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DENVER, CO, November 4, 2021\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Edward C.
