Joanne is one of the highest profile women in health care, with 40 years of health care and financial industry expertise. She focuses her practice on transactional and regulatory matters for health care systems, senior living organizations and physician practices, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, affiliations and reorganizations, licensure, antitrust planning and compliance-related issues.
Joanne is a Certified Public Accountant and served as the President of Community Hospital of Lancaster for seven years and previously as its Chief Financial Officer. She is a Fellow in the Health Care Financial Management Association, served as its chairperson in 1992 and was honored with its national lifetime achievement award in 1999. She was also named one of Pennsylvania’s inaugural “Best 50 Women in Business” in 2000 for her significant contributions to job growth in Pennsylvania.
Joanne speaks nationally on health care issues, authors articles for numerous industry publications and has taught at Franklin & Marshall College and Millersville University. She serves in leadership capacities in a number of community and professional organizations, and has been similarly involved in the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council.

Joanne has been recognized among the Lehigh Valley Business Journal’s 2022 “Women of Influence” and has been selected as a “Circle of Excellence” honoree for her longstanding, notable success and her advocacy for women professionals in Lehigh Valley communities. She was also recognized as among Central Pennsylvania Business Journal‘s “Women of Influence” in 2016. She is the 2017 recipient of the Franciscan Award, Alvernia University’s top honor, and a 2009 recipient of the Athena Award from the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry. As published in Philadelphia magazine, Joanne was recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer from 2004 through 2010 by being selected by her peers as among the top 5 percent of lawyers in the Commonwealth.
