Current Opportunities

Corporate and Commercial Litigation Associate — Wilmington, DE

Stevens & Lee is a full-service law firm with 190+ attorneys in 16 offices primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region. We provide services to a wide range of business clients — from lower middle-market to Fortune 500 companies — on a regional and national basis. The law firm is part of The Stevens & Lee Companies, a diversified professional services firm with synergetic lines of business, including an investment bank and other complementary financial and consulting services organizations.

Stevens & Lee’s Litigation Group is one of the fastest growing practices in the firm with more than 50 attorneys, including over 15 associates. Our litigators are problem-solvers who deliver efficient, desired outcomes to clients facing disputes. Due to the continued growth and expansion of our practice, we have an opening in our Wilmington, DE office for a mid-level associate with corporate and/or commercial litigation experience. This position offers the opportunity for hands-on litigation experience, including courtroom experience and deposition practice (taking and defending).

Stevens & Lee’s Delaware office handles sophisticated corporate and commercial matters including corporate governance and alternative entity litigation, as well as other corporate claims, such as appraisal and books and records actions. Experience with litigation involving special committees is a plus. We also handle a wide range of commercial matters, including litigation involving stock and asset purchase agreements and other commercial contracts, breach of representations and warranties and theft of trade secrets.

If you have developed skill in these areas and are looking to gain additional substantive experience with increased responsibility, all while working in a collegial environment, we would like to talk with you. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are prerequisites. Ideal candidates will have meaningful experience in the following areas:

  • Delaware Court of Chancery, Superior Court and the District of Delaware
  • Deposition preparation
  • Discovery and eDiscovery
  • Drafting of pleadings, motions and briefs
  • Experience with trials and class actions, though not required, is a plus

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Delaware.
