Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf Announces New State Imposed Business Restrictions
On December 10, 2020, Governor Wolf laid out new state imposed business restrictions prohibiting all indoor dining as well as prohibiting indoor operations at gyms, fitness facilities and entertainment centers such as movie theaters and casinos. The shutdowns are part of a series of limited-time mitigation efforts beginning at 12:01 a.m. on December 12, 2020 and ending at 8 a.m. on January 4, 2021.
The in-person indoor dining restrictions include, but are not limited to, bars, restaurants, breweries, wineries, distilleries, social clubs and private catered events. Outdoor dining, take-out food service and take-out alcohol sales are permitted to continue. Indoor gatherings and events of more than 10 people and outdoor gathering and events of more than 50 people are also prohibited. Churches, synagogues, temples, mosques and other places of worship are excluded from this rule. All in-person businesses serving the public may only operate at up to 50% capacity.
Entertainment businesses impacted by the restrictions include all in-person businesses serving the public within an indoor defined area, such as theaters, concert venues, museums and movie theaters.
