Wolf Administration Announces New Mitigation Efforts as COVID-19 Cases Continue to Rise in Pennsylvania

On November 23, 2020, Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine announced new targeted mitigation measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19. In addition to encouraging Pennsylvanians to limit unnecessary travel, the new measures ensure that schools and businesses are safe and in compliance with COVID safety plans.

As it relates to gathering, the administration is advising all Pennsylvanians to keep gatherings held in homes to members of the same household. Schools that have been in the substantial transmission level for at least two consecutive weeks have to commit to safety measures to ensure the safety and well-being of students and educators. If they choose not to, they must move to fully remote learning without all extracurricular activities. As it relates to businesses, the Order will consolidate previous orders and includes reiterating cleaning and social distancing requirements, as well as mandatory telework requirements unless impossible.

The Order becomes effective on Friday, November 27, 2020 and will remain in effect until further notice.
