Association for Corporate Counsel Greater Philadelphia International Law CLE Webinar

Join Manuela M. Morais, Co-Chair of Stevens & Lee’s Immigration and Naturalization Practice, for the ACC Greater Philadelphia International Law Webinar addressing the immigration consequences of mergers and acquisitions. Panel members will include Jon C. Hughes, Shareholder, Stevens & Lee’s Corporate, Finance & Capital Markets Group.

In the corporate world, changes in company ownership and structure are frequent occurrences that can seemingly happen with little notice to immigration counsel. The immigration consequences of corporate reorganization can vary depending on the circumstances. During this webinar, the speakers will outline common types of reorganization and their effects on foreign national employees.

Ideally, prior to closing the deal, the company should determine if there are any foreign national employees and their immigration status. In evaluating, the company should consider the following questions: Will the U.S. employer change? Will the employment address change? If so, is this a “material change”? Will any positions be eliminated, consolidated or changed in any way? Are there any corporate changes abroad? Has the company changed its name for marketing/branding purposes only?

This webinar is complimentary for ACC Greater Philadelphia members and non member in house counsel. The Zoom link to join the webinar will be provided with your completed registration.
