PACB’s 117th Annual Convention

Dean H. Dusinberre, Shareholder and Co-Chair of Stevens & Lee’s Financial Institutions Group, is presenting the education session “Battle Tested! Leadership Lessons from the Battle of Gettysburg” at the 2024 Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers Convention at The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA, on Sept. 19, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 4:50 p.m.

Dwight D. Eisenhower said that “leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it.” At Gettysburg, Union and Confederate Commanders faced a series of challenges in getting someone else to do something under the enormous stress of battle. How they responded and the results they obtained contain critical lessons for today’s leaders. This education session will cover two major learning objectives. It will first examine principles and concepts, including emotional intelligence, success crises, effective communication and strategic vision. Additionally, Dean will review historical analysis of Gettysburg and how tactics from the 1863 battlefield can help today’s business leaders.
