ABC NJ Construction Legal Summit
Meave Cannon, Veronica Morrison, Brad Kushner and Harry Horwitz presented at the 2025 Construction Legal Summit hosted by ABC New Jersey Chapter in Princeton, NJ, on Feb. 12, 2025.
The Construction Legal Summit was a half-day conference that featured top attorneys sharing insights on navigating challenges and changes to policy and law in the construction industry.
Harry presented on how construction liens in New Jersey can help get general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers paid. If done right, a construction lien can get a property sold, with the sale money going to pay contractors and suppliers for work and materials.
Meave discussed a range of topics, including the differences between state and local contracting, common pitfalls to avoid and what, if anything, can be done in the event of an error.
Veronica presented on how construction projects are inherently wrought with risks. Construction contracts are and should be designed to manage and allocate these risks according to industry norms and rules of fair play.
Brad discussed OSHA’s recent construction initiatives and emphasis programs, new and proposed OSHA standards that impact the industry and recent notable decisions that provide guidance and insight for employers.
