NJBankers’ Banking on the Future Conference 2025

Co-Chairs of the White Collar Defense and Investigations Group Gerard M. Karam and Ryan L. O’Neill presented the program “Regulatory Landscape” at the 2025 Banking on the Future Conference hosted by the New Jersey Bankers Association at the Borgata Hotel in Atlantic City, PA, on Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.

Jerry and Ryan discussed how community banks have shouldered a disproportionately high cost of compliance and enforcement actions compared to larger institutions, despite transparency and costly cooperation and collaboration with federal and state regulators. They weighed in on developments that suggest that the regulatory landscape is positioned to soften under the new administration.
