Steven J. Adams Named General Counsel of The Stevens & Lee Companies

READING, PA, June 10, 2025 – Stevens & Lee announced today that Steven J. Adams has been named General Counsel. A former Assistant General Counsel since 2023, Mr. Adams succeeds Charles M. Bloom who served in that capacity since 2015.

As chief legal officer, Mr. Adams is responsible for overseeing Stevens & Lee’s legal matters, including providing ethics and compliance advice to the firm’s attorneys. He also works closely with the firm’s executive team to provide advice and counsel on all aspects of enterprise risk management and loss prevention.

In addition to his role as General Counsel, Steve maintains an active practice as a 35-year member of the firm’s Litigation and Bankruptcy Departments. He concentrates in creditor’s rights, including commercial collections and foreclosures, collateral repossessions, receivables collections, commercial bankruptcy proceedings and all aspects of post-judgment enforcement activity. He also represents construction industry clients in prosecuting their rights under Pennsylvania’s mechanics’ lien and payment bond laws, and he defends residential mortgage lenders and servicers from all types of consumer lending litigation claims.

Among Mr. Adams’ clients are national, regional and local financial institutions, mortgage servicers, agricultural lending associations, manufacturers, service providers and large building material supply companies.

Mr. Adams earned his J.D., cum laude, from Penn State Dickinson Law and his B.A. from Elizabethtown College.
