Joanne Judge Receives Highest Honor for Volunteerism from United Way of Berks County

READING, PA, APRIL 26, 2023 – Stevens & Lee is proud to announce that Joanne Judge has received the United Way of Berks County’s Wilbur H. Doran Award at the organization’s Celebrate United annual dinner on April 20. 

United Way’s Wilbur H. Doran Award is the organization’s highest honor in recognizing an individual’s long-term commitment and outstanding service to the Berks County community. As its recipient, Ms. Judge is celebrated for her organizational leadership with United Way and her decades-long dedication to advancing its community impact activities and mission.

Ms. Judge is one of Pennsylvania’s highest profile women in health care, with 40 years of health care and financial industry expertise. She focuses her practice on transactional and regulatory matters for health care systems, senior living organizations and physician practices,

Ms. Judge is a Certified Public Accountant and served as the President of the Community Hospital of Lancaster for seven years and previously as its Chief Financial Officer. She is a Fellow in the Health Care Financial Management Association, served as its chairperson in 1992 and was honored with its national lifetime achievement award. She was also named one of Pennsylvania’s inaugural “Best 50 Women in Business” in 2000 for her significant contributions to job growth in Pennsylvania. She serves in leadership capacities in a number of professional organizations, and is the current Board Chair for North Lime Holdings, the parent company of an affiliated group of specialty contracting companies operating throughout the United States. As a thought leader in her field, Ms. Judge speaks nationally on health care issues, authors articles for numerous industry publications.

An advocate for growth in her home Berks County and Lancaster communities, Ms. Judge serves in various leadership roles for regional nonprofit organizations. She is the Immediate Past Chair of the United Way of Berks County and has advanced its philanthropic missions through her board membership across 18 years. Ms. Judge has also been a member of the Berks County Work Force Development Board for more than a decade and is its Immediate Past President, and she has served on the board of directors and as Chair of the YMCA of Reading and Berks County across eight years.

She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law and her B.S. from St. Joseph’s University.
