Jon C. Hughes Joins Stevens & Lee

Firm Deepens Corporate Transactional Services

PHILADELPHIA, PA, October 8, 2021 – Stevens & Lee announced today that Jon C. Hughes has joined the firm’s Corporate, Finance and Capital Markets Department and is based in its Philadelphia office.

Mr. Hughes has a global practice advising public and privately held entities on a range of corporate governance issues and business transactions, including securities offerings, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and financial services. He provides strategic counsel with debt and equity financings, acquisitions and divestitures and general corporate matters and routinely helps foreign clients with a range of cross-border transactions.

Mr. Hughes also assists emerging companies and individuals across the gamut of investment and entrepreneurial needs that pervade the start-up space. His experience spans business and legal challenges that arise in formation, debt and equity financing and equity incentive plans, and he has worked closely with incubator and accelerator programs.    

As a thought leader, Mr. Hughes has written on trends in private equity and venture capital and has lectured on similar topics. He has been serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School since 2014, where he teaches Transactional Drafting. Mr. Hughes earned his LL.M. from the New York University School of Law, his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
