Karl S. Myers Named to the Third Circuit Bar Association’s Board of Governors
PHILADELPHIA and HARRISBURG, PA, January 18, 2023 – Stevens & Lee announced today that Karl S. Myers, Co-Chair of the firm’s Appellate Litigation Group, has been named to the Board of Governors of the Third Circuit Bar Association.
In this role, Mr. Myers will help to advance the Third Circuit Bar Association’s mission, working with the Judges of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, to improve the standards of federal appellate practice, develop improved rules of practice, promote events and educational programs to aid the Court in the administration of justice, and facilitate relations between the bench and bar.
Mr. Myers is a leading Pennsylvania appellate lawyer with two decades of experience arguing and briefing a wide variety of high-profile, precedent-setting cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme, Commonwealth and Superior Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He has particular experience in the areas of state and federal constitutional challenges, administrative agency disputes, Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law requests, contracting and bid-protest disputes, insurance insolvency and guaranty association issues, and complex commercial actions.
Mr. Myers is listed by Chambers and Partners USA in the highest tier of appellate lawyers in Pennsylvania. He serves in prominent roles within the community of appellate practitioners, including as Co-Chair of the Appellate Advocacy Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and on the Board of Directors and as Pennsylvania State Chair for the Council of Appellate Lawyers of the American Bar Association’s Appellate Judges Conference, the first and only national appellate bench-bar organization.
Mr. Myers earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Delaware. He served as a law clerk for the Hon. Russell M. Nigro of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and for the Hon. John T.J. Kelly, Jr. of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
