Stevens & Lee/Griffin Significantly Expands its Financial Institutions Platform

Two Teams of Prominent Banking and Regulatory Lawyers Join the Firm and its Financial Institutions Platform

PHILADELPHIA and HARRISBURG, PA, JANUARY 2, 2018 – Stevens & Lee, a member of the Stevens & Lee/Griffin family of companies, announced today that four prominent financial services lawyers have joined the firm. Dean H. Dusinberre will be resident in the firm’s Harrisburg Market Square office and Frank A. Mayer, III and Richard M. Berman will be resident the firm’s Philadelphia office.

All will be members of that group and the firm’s Corporate Finance and Capital Markets Department.

Mr. Mayer will serve as Chair of the firm’s newly formed Financial Services Regulatory and Enforcement Group.

Mr. Dusinberre is among Pennsylvania’s most highly regarded banking lawyers. He represents financial institutions in mergers and acquisitions, capital formation, securities law compliance, corporate governance and regulatory matters. He also serves as lender’s counsel in connection with both loan originations and loan workouts.

Mr. Mayer advises U.S. and multinational financial services companies on a wide range of matters, including mergers, reorganizations, dispositions and acquisitions, enforcement actions and other matters. His background includes positions as a former senior attorney with the FDIC, senior counsel at the Resolution Trust Corporation and member of the federal government inter-agency national bank fraud working group. He also has held significant governmental positions throughout his career.

Mr. Berman is a former senior in-house counsel to both regional and national financial institutions, including Commerce Bank, TD Bank and Sun National Bank, where he headed the legal department. He advises clients on regulatory matters, cash management, loss prevention and security, claims, litigation, lending and asset recovery, as well as the wide variety of operational issues that arise on a daily basis.
