Thomas M. Tammany Joins Stevens & Lee

VALLEY FORGE, PA, March 5, 2012 – Stevens & Lee announced today that Thomas M. Tammany has joined the firm’s Health Care practice and will be resident in its Valley Forge office.

Mr. Tammany joins an industry-focused team which includes more than 40 lawyers, medical doctors, nurses, a psychologist and a pharmacist as well as former health care CEOs and administrators who bring a wealth of industry expertise.

Mr. Tammany represents academic medical centers, hospitals and health systems, physician groups, medical device companies and other health care providers in mergers and acquisitions, affiliations and contractual matters. He has extensive experience assisting hospitals and physicians in various arrangements, including joint ventures, practice acquisitions/divestitures, recruitment, faculty and employment matters, medical staff and credentialing disputes, compliance with fraud and abuse and Stark laws and clinical research trials. Mr. Tammany also advises clients on non-profit corporate law and regulatory matters, such as licensing, reimbursement, managed care, governance issues, patient care and information technology.

Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Tammany was chief counsel of the University of Pennsylvania Health System and was previously associate general counsel of the Main Line Health System. Mr. Tammany served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General Corps and is a former U.S. Army Ranger.
