A native of Pittsburgh’s South Oakland neighborhood, Kevin built his career on decades of legal, business and civic leadership and service to the Pittsburgh region and its people.
Kevin most recently served as President of Business Operations for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League and previously held positions of Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for the team for more than seven seasons. In 2021, he spearheaded the sale of the Penguins to Fenway Sports Group, and thereafter was responsible for all business and operations of the Penguins organization, including concerts and events at PPG Paints Arena.
Prior to running the Penguins, Kevin was Chief of Staff to Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto from 2014 to 2018, during which time he served simultaneously as Chief Development Officer and Chairman of the Urban Redevelopment Authority. In these roles, he oversaw all aspects of operations and management of all City departments, with particular focus on community-driven development activities and oversight of City Planning, the Urban Redevelopment Authority, Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority, the Sports & Exhibition Authority and the Stadium Authority. Kevin led key developments across the City, including the transformative redevelopment of the former Civic Arena and managing the City’s financial recovery from Act 47 oversight.
Kevin began his career in law and is an experienced business law attorney, previously serving as Chief Legal Officer of Peoples Natural Gas Company and was a business and transactional lawyer for law firms in Pittsburgh and Boston. He has assisted clients in mergers and acquisitions, purchases and sales of businesses, and transactions involving private equity and venture capital investments.
