NCEO 2022 Employee Ownership Conference

Monitoring has become a topic everyone is talking about. The law requires the board of directors to hire, fire and monitor the trustee. The law also requires the trustee to monitor the board of directors. What does this mean? How do you create a process to document that you have complied with the law? Will your process hold up to review by the Department of Labor?

Join James G. Steiker to find out what monitoring means and how to document that you are in compliance. An institutional trustee, an inside trustee and a lawyer will teach you how to create a process to do it right. Samples of checklists to use in the documentation will be provided.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Gain a thorough understanding of mutual monitoring requirements and what they mean in practice.
  2. Learn how to create a process that documents board and trustee compliance with monitoring requirements.
  3. Learn how to create the forms documenting monitoring processes to ensure they will hold up to review.
