Alexander A. Batoff Named Among 2026 “Forty Under 40” by City & State PA

Alexander V. Batoff, Shareholder in the firm’s Labor and Employment Department, has been named a “Forty Under 40” honoree by City & State PA. He will be celebrated during the awards event at the Whitaker Center in Harrisburg, PA, on May 28.

Honorees are distinguished for their professional accomplishments, innovation and leadership across Pennsylvania. City & State PA has recognized Mr. Batoff for his skills and success as a labor relations, employment law and commercial litigator whose practice has impacted legislation.

Mr. Batoff concentrates his practice in labor and employment law. He counsels employers on federal, state and local employment and discrimination laws, including issues involving discipline, terminations and reductions-in-force, family and medical leave, collective bargaining and unfair labor practices, employee restrictive covenant agreements, reasonable accommodations under the ADA and wage and hour compliance. When necessary, Mr. Batoff defends employers in litigation before federal and state courts and administrative agencies and in private arbitration. In addition, he has experience writing employee handbooks and policies, employment contracts and separation agreements and affirmative action plans.

Trained in alternative dispute resolution (ADR), Mr. Batoff serves as a volunteer mediator with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and helps parties amicably resolve their differences early in the employment discrimination litigation process. He is also a Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Compulsory Arbitration Panelist. In addition, he is a certified mediator in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Alex enjoys giving back to the community and has proudly served as a Homeless Advocacy Project volunteer coordinator and as a Philadelphia VIP pro bono legal services provider.

He his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh.
