Andrew G. Blais, a member of Stevens & Lee’s Litigation Department, has been recognized by Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly in its annual Excellence in Law Awards as among the honorees for “Up and & Coming” lawyers. He will be celebrated during the awards event at Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick on June 2, 2026.

The Excellence in Law awards spotlights outstanding members of the Rhode Island legal community and recognizes local legal excellence across various areas of the profession. Mr. Blais is distinguished for his acumen in shaping the trial strategies of his teams and his community leadership in guiding the expansion and operation of numerous nonprofit organizations.

Mr. Blais is an ardent advocate for his clients and dedicated to achieving the best results both in and out of the courtroom. His practice includes a wide variety of business disputes and real estate, land use and construction disputes.

Mr. Blais has successfully represented clients in a wide range of complex civil litigation matters across Rhode Island and Massachusetts. His recent work includes securing the removal of a fiduciary in a trust dispute, obtaining a Rhode Island Superior Court judgment reversing a municipality’s improper denial of zoning relief – along with an award of attorneys’ fees – and achieving favorable outcomes for condominium owners in a dispute involving the maintenance and governance of common areas. Mr. Blais also has defended professional licenses, including successfully overturning a medical license suspension imposed by a state regulatory board. He has reversed the appointment of a receiver on behalf of a closely held business and obtained emergency injunctive relief for a real estate developer against a municipality attempting to block a permitted construction project in violation of constitutional protections.

He received his J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Rhode Island.
