Experienced New Jersey Real Estate Lawyer Christopher K. Costa Joins Stevens & Lee

Firm Expands Princeton Office

PRINCETON, NJ, February 1, 2019 – Stevens & Lee announced today that Christopher K. Costa has joined the firm’s real estate practice. A well-known New Jersey real estate lawyer, Mr. Costa joins a group of 25 lawyers in the firm’s expanding Princeton office.

For over 25 years, Mr. Costa has focused his practice on all aspects of real estate law, including transactions, land use, commercial lending, condominium conversions and landlord-tenant law. He handles a wide range of commercial real estate matters for corporations, developers and institutional end-users, including land use, leasing and conveyancing for office, laboratory, retail, industrial and residential uses throughout central New Jersey.

He also has advised non-profit, religious and educational organizations in real estate matters, discrimination and 501(c)(3) IRS advocacy, and has defended the rights of religious, medical and educational organizations designated as “inherently beneficial uses” before municipal boards, New Jersey State Courts and Federal Courts.

Trained by the Consensus Building Institute, Mr. Costa mediates complex land use disputes. He is a recognized educator of real estate lawyers and professionals, and a frequent speaker on real estate law topics for the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the Mercer County Bar Association, and the National Business Institute, among other industry organizations. He received a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and a B.S. from Cornell University.

The move comes as part of the firm’s continued growth in New Jersey. In late 2017, Patricia Herst and a team of experienced estates and trusts paralegals joined the firm in Princeton. In 2015, Patrick Kennedy and Maeve Cannon brought to the firm their government contracting practice, Ryan Kennedy his real estate practice, and Heather Eshelman McCusker her trusts and estates practice. Earlier, a team of five employment lawyers led by Tom Lewis joined Stevens & Lee Princeton.
