Hon. Thomas I. Vanaskie (Ret.) Presents at the 2021 Personal Injury Law Conference

PHILADELPHIA, PA, September 28, 2021 – Hon. Thomas I. Vanaskie (Ret.), Chair of Stevens & Lee’s Appellate and Mediation, Neutral Services and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Groups, presented at the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Personal Injury Law Conference 2021, a webcast CLE event, on September 28, 2021.

Judge Vanaskie joined a panel of legal professionals to present “The Practice of Law During The COVID-19 Pandemic, Part One: Civil Jury Trials – Lessons Learned, Where We Are and Where We are Going.” The panel of trial judges and trial lawyers shared perspectives about transformative developments in civil case management and trials during the pandemic. Panelists included Hon. Daniel J. Anders of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas; Hon. Steven C. Tolliver, Sr. of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas; and Joe H. Tucker, Jr. of Tucker Law Group.

Judge Vanaskie is Of Counsel with Stevens & Lee’s Litigation Department. He is a former Judge with the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Judge Vanaskie was appointed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 2010 where he served with distinction for eight years, participating in and deciding many complex, high profile cases. Before 2010, he served as a district judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania for 16 years, including seven years as chief judge.
