James C. Schwartzman Elected to the Board of the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson

PHILADELPHIA, PA, May 6, 2014 – Stevens & Lee Shareholder James C. Schwartzman was elected to the Board of the Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson, a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designated cancer center and a part of Thomas Jefferson University.

In addition to serving on the Kimmel Cancer Center Board, Mr. Schwartzman is a member of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee and Board of Directors of Independence Blue Cross, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania’s Interest on Lawyers Trust Account Board, where he also serves as Chair.

He is a member of the Committee of Seventy, as well as numerous other organizations, including the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association, the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association and his local, state and national bar associations.

Mr. Schwartzman has extensive experience representing and counseling lawyers, law firms and judges on ethics-related issues. He has extensive trial experience in most of the courts in southeastern Pennsylvania.

He received a J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law and an A.B. from Washington University.
