Marianne J. Gilmartin Gets Recertification as a Civil Trial Advocate
SCRANTON, PA, April 5, 2022 – Stevens & Lee announced today that Marianne J. Gilmartin has achieved board recertification as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA).
Through this recertification by the NBTA, Ms. Gilmartin is recognized as meeting rigorous proficiencies in legal knowledge, experience and skill, as well as various measures of good standing in her profession. The NBTA is focused on creating an objective set of standards illustrating an attorney’s experience and expertise in the practice of trial law.
Ms. Gilmartin focuses her practice in litigation issues in the areas of construction, toxic torts, product liability and catastrophic casualty, banking, insurance, manufacturing and complex commercial litigation. She represents public utilities, owners and developers, contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers, as well as colleges and universities, utilities, banking institutions, local government, manufacturers and insurance companies in a wide range of litigation matters.
Additionally, Ms. Gilmartin counsels clients regarding risk avoidance and manages construction litigation and dispute resolution proceedings, including mechanics’ lien claims. She has tried and mediated dozens of significant catastrophic casualty cases throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania, including some at the appellate level.
Ms. Gilmartin earned her J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Marywood College.
