Robert Lapowsky Speaks at the Keystone Conference on Business and Policy
PHILADELPHIA, PA, December 9, 2015 – Stevens & Lee Shareholder Robert Lapowsky was a panelist at the Keystone Conference on Business and Policy held November 19-20, 2015, at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman Quadrangle in Philadelphia, PA.
As a panelist for “Fixing Municipal Finances,” Mr. Lapowsky discussed the potential use of Chapter 9 of the Federal Bankruptcy Code to address the looming financial crisis facing Pennsylvania cities, particularly due to rising pension costs.
Mr. Lapowsky is Co-Chair of Stevens & Lee’s Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Department. He has been an active practitioner in the area of bankruptcy and creditors’ rights since 1979. He represents financial institutions, debtors, creditors’ committees, and trustees and asset acquirers in all aspects of the corporate reorganization practice.
Mr. Lapowsky is a Fellow in The American College of Bankruptcy, a national invitation-only honorary professional society of bankruptcy and insolvency professionals. He is also a Lecturer in Law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Mr. Lapowsky has a J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania State University and a B.S. from The Pennsylvania State University.
