Stevens & Lee Adds New York Litigator Edward C. Wipper
NEW YORK, NY; Feb. 17, 2026 – Stevens & Lee announced today that Edward C. Wipper has joined the firm’s Litigation Practice as a Shareholder.
“Ed is an outstanding courtroom lawyer who combines fierce advocacy with a strategic and tactical approach,” said Stevens & Lee President and CEO William P. Thornton, Jr. “Ed brings an unbridled passion for enforcing his clients’ rights. He has had success in the most difficult of cases and has built a reputation for client-aligned service and strong litigation results. We are very pleased to have his talents at Stevens & Lee.”
Mr. Wipper has more than 20 years of trial experience representing clients in New York state, national and federal courts on a wide array of issues, including partnership and investor disputes, breach of contract and fraud cases, IP matters, real estate litigation, trusts and estates controversies, regulatory disputes and heath care litigation.
Among his clients are publicly traded companies and their C-suite executives, privately held businesses of all sizes and their owners, and individuals, all of whom he represents in complex, high-stakes business, family and personal disputes.
Mr. Wipper’s recent high-profile representations include obtaining a restraining order against the New York State Department of Health preventing it from issuing Medicaid sanctions against local businesses in a statewide home health care program; defending the sole provider of public school lunches from a restraining order that would have prevented delivery of meals to Brooklyn and Staten Island schools; defending a publicly traded surgical device company in Delaware Chancery Court in a complex investor dispute; and defending a group of prominent athletes who were sued derivatively in a SoHo real estate venture – an outcome featured in Real Deal Magazine.
Mr. Wipper earned his J.D. from William & Mary School of Law and his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University.
