Thomas A. Bowen Presents at the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s Tax Conference
HARRISBURG, PA, December 9, 2016 – Stevens & Lee Shareholder Thomas A. Bowen presented at the Reading Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s Tax Conference held December 8, 2016, in Wyomissing, PA.
In a session devoted to Pennsylvania tax planning, Mr. Bowen discussed inheritance, M&A and M&A realty tax planning before an audience of tax professionals. He also presented on the Pennsylvania tax amnesty program, which will run from April 21 through June 19, 2017, and provide eligible parties with adjusted tax penalties and interest fees.
Mr. Bowen is Chair of Stevens & Lee’s State and Local Tax Group. He concentrates his practice in state and local taxes, unclaimed property and economic development incentives. In the tax area, his focus is on controversies, planning and policy. For unclaimed property, Mr. Bowen assists holders with risk management, controversies and planning. For incentives, he identifies, negotiates and implements grants, low-interest loans and tax reductions.
A Certified Public Accountant and a lawyer, Mr. Bowen spent seven years with Ernst & Young, LLP, most recently as the Mid-Atlantic Area Director of state and local income and franchise taxes. He also served as tax counsel to AMP Incorporated (now TE Connectivity), a Fortune 300 company for over 15 years.
