Jonathan has substantial experience litigating complex employment-related actions in state and federal courts and arbitration forums throughout the United States. He concentrates his practice in employment litigation and counseling, with a focus on representing financial institutions, broker-dealers and individual financial advisors in the securities industry in litigation, arbitration and regulatory proceedings.

Jonathan regularly advises financial institutions, broker-dealers and registered representatives in employment-related matters involving recruiting, transitions and restrictive covenants in employment agreements, and frequently represents broker-dealers and registered representatives in FINRA arbitration. He also assists broker-dealers and registered representatives in regulatory matters before FINRA, and counsels firms, executives and professionals regarding their employment agreements.

Jonathan has extensive experience litigating matters involving restrictive covenants and other post-employment obligations, including non-competition and non-solicitation disputes, trade secret disputes, and disputes over confidential information. He frequently represents clients in injunctive relief proceedings in federal and state courts throughout the country involving the defense and enforcement of restrictive covenants.

Jonathan has also defended companies in various industries, including financial services, hospitality, health care and manufacturing, against claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and other similar types of employment claims arising under federal, state and local employment laws and statutes. He has appeared before the EEOC, NLRB and similar state and local agencies; has litigated employment cases to verdict in state and federal court; and has appeared in various dispute resolution forums, including AAA, JAMS, AHLA and FINRA.

Jonathan was formerly an attorney in Central Appellate Research of the New Jersey Administrative Office of the Courts in Trenton, New Jersey. In this capacity, he drafted bench memoranda analyzing a wide range of issues under federal and state law, including labor and employment matters. Before that, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Anthony J. Parrillo in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, as a legal intern for the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, Division of Law, and as a legal intern for the Honorable Richard B. Klein of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
