Nicholas helps clients achieve state and federal regulatory compliance for their transactional, siting, ratemaking, compliance and governance matters. He has represented regulated natural gas, oil pipeline, electric, water and wastewater utilities before regulatory agencies, including the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PAPUC) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He has represented various entities in civil litigation related to energy and utility issues, and assisted project developers and landowners in navigating the PAPUC and FERC regulatory constructs. His experience also extends to assisting clients with energy and utility related appellate matters before the Pennsylvania Commonwealth and Supreme Courts.
Prior to private practice, Nicholas served as a Law Clerk to the PAPUC’s Law Bureau and within the Senate of Pennsylvania. His was also a Legal Extern in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
