Steve has more than 30 years of experience advising on employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) transactions. He has represented ESOP sponsors, selling shareholders and trustees in matters involving ESOP formation and amendment, increases in ESOP ownership, ESOP-led acquisitions and ESOP terminations and buyouts.
He is frequently engaged as special ESOP counsel by corporate counsel and has served as an expert witness in ESOP-related litigation in state and federal courts. Before concentrating his practice on ESOPs, Steve practiced business and transactional law.
He is the past Chair of The ESOP Association’s Legal and Regulatory Committee and current Trustee of the Employee Ownership Foundation.
