Trusts and Estates Attorney – Senior Associate (Princeton)

Since its inception more than 90 years ago, Stevens & Lee has cultivated a vibrant estate planning, administration and trusts practice that currently serves third and fourth generations of many families.  We have a keen understanding of tax laws, closely held businesses, family dynamics, changes in outlook among generations, decision making in families and business organizations, protection from creditors’ claims, and the peculiar challenges of collectibles and other unique assets.  Our sound counsel derives from a wealth of experience combined with strategic utilization of relationships with other legal specialists, accountants, life insurance professionals, appraisers and taxing authorities.  The continued growth and expansion of our practice have created openings for experienced trust and estate associates on either shareholder or non-shareholder tracks in Princeton, NJ. 

Ideal candidates will have 6-10 years of a broad experience range with estate planning, estate and trust administration, corporate entity determination and taxation, and will have assisted with one or more of the following:

  • Research, analysis and drafting of estate and tax plans
  • Administration of probate estates
  • Preparation and review of tax returns
  • Fiduciary litigation
  • Charitable planning
  • Planning for family-owned and privately held businesses

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey; Pennsylvania and/or New York admission is a plus.

Real Estate Attorney – Senior Associate (Providence)

Stevens & Lee’s Real Estate Group offers a deep base of practical experience representing owners, developers, financial institutions, and other entities in a broad range of real estate-related matters, including acquisitions, conveyances, land use approvals, construction, and leasing. Our real estate team is widely known as experienced, aggressive and creative problem solvers who consistently deliver exceptional results for clients.  The continued growth and expansion of our practice have created the need for an experienced upper mid-level senior associate in our Providence, RI office.

Qualifications: 

Ideal candidates will have 5-8 years of real estate transactional experience that includes any of the following areas:

  • Land use, zoning and development
  • Commercial real estate transactions (acquisition and sale)
  • Commercial leasing
  • Real estate financing
  • Realty transfer tax matters
  • Contract drafting

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Rhode Island or eligible to obtain admission promptly in the state.

Commercial Litigation – Senior Associate (Bergen County NJ/New York City)

Stevens & Lee’s Litigation Group consists of more than 60 attorneys, including over 15 associates. Our litigators are problem-solvers who deliver efficient, desired outcomes to clients facing disputes. The continued growth and expansion of our practice has created the need for a skilled, upper-level associate with 5-10 years of solid commercial litigation experience. This position offers the opportunity for hands-on litigation, including courtroom experience and deposition practice (taking and defending).

If you have developed exceptional skills in these areas and are looking to gain additional substantive experience with increased responsibility, all while working in a collegial environment, we would like to talk with you. We seek highly motivated, growth-oriented individuals. Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are prerequisites. We value self-starters with the ability to work individually and in teams.

Ideal candidates will have meaningful experience in the following areas:

  • Deposition practice
  • Discovery and eDiscovery
  • Oral argument
  • Witness preparation
  • Drafting of pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Experience with trials and class actions, though not required, is a plus.

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey and/or New York. PA admission a plus.
