Leading Appellate Lawyer Karl S. Myers Joins Stevens & Lee

Firm Expands Appellate Litigation Capabilities

PHILADELPHIA and Harrisburg, PA, May 10, 2022 – Stevens & Lee announced today that Karl S. Myers has joined the firm and will co-chair its Appellate Litigation Practice Group. He is based in the Philadelphia and Harrisburg Market Square offices.

Mr. Myers joins fellow Co-Chair the Hon. Thomas I. Vanaskie (Ret.) in leading this highly experienced team, which serves a wide range of regional and national clients by representing them as parties or amicus in appeals before federal and state appellate courts, and by providing appellate strategy, trial consultation and related litigation services.

Mr. Myers is a leading Pennsylvania appellate lawyer with two decades of experience arguing and briefing a wide variety of high-profile, precedent-setting cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme, Commonwealth and Superior Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He has particular experience in the areas of state and federal constitutional challenges, administrative agency disputes, Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law requests, contracting and bid-protest disputes, insurance insolvency and guaranty association issues, and complex commercial actions.  

As an experienced trial lawyer, Mr. Myers has handled essentially every type of civil matter. He is also a trained mediator and is certified as a state and a federal court arbitrator.

Mr. Myers is listed by Chambers USA in the highest tier of appellate lawyers in Pennsylvania. He serves in prominent roles within the community of appellate practitioners, including as Co-Chair of the Appellate Advocacy Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and on the Board of Directors and as Pennsylvania State Chair for the Council of Appellate Lawyers of the American Bar Association’s Appellate Judges Conference, the first and only national appellate bench-bar organization.

Mr. Myers earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Delaware. He served as a law clerk for the Hon. Russell M. Nigro of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and for the Hon. John T.J. Kelly Jr. of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania.
