Joseph P. Hofmann and Jeffrey M. Zimskind Present at the Metal Powers Industry Federation’s 2016 PM Management Summit

READING, PA, December 28, 2016 – Stevens & Lee Shareholders Joseph P. Hofmann and Jeffrey M. Zimskind presented at the Metal Powers Industry Federation’s 2016 PM Management Summit held November 19-21, 2016, in New York, NY.

In their joint panel session, “HR Legal Environment and Key Recent Developments,” Hofmann and Zimskind addressed an audience of powder metallurgy (PM) industry executives. Discussion topics included how the Fair Labor Standards Act functions in regard to white collar salary levels and changes in the minimum wage, and how to handle the workforce transition from baby boomers to millennials. They also presented on the National Labor Relations Board’s activism efforts and how immigration issues are impacting companies.

Mr. Hofmann concentrates his practice on labor and employment law matters including employment litigation and labor relations, and provides advice to management on effective human resource management practices, legal compliance and risk management in labor and employment matters. He works with employers in a variety of industries in responding to union organizing and decertification attempts, defense of unfair labor practice charges and complaints, strategizing on union avoidance techniques from both a legal and practical standpoint and negotiating collective bargaining agreements.

Mr. Zimskind concentrates his practice on employment-based immigration law. He represents a broad range of clients in securing U.S. work visas, including visas for foreign computer professionals, engineers, managers and health care workers, as well as E-2 nonimmigrant and EB-5 Regional Center immigrant investor visas. Jeff also advises clients on I-9 compliance issues and on I-9 and other immigration law issues in the context of corporate mergers and acquisitions.
