Linda R. Evers Appointed to the Sustainable Energy Fund Board

READING, PA, July 31, 2014 – Stevens & Lee Shareholder Linda R. Evers’ appointment to serve on the board of directors of the Sustainable Energy Fund, a top funder of projects involving sustainable energy, was approved by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission.

A private, non-profit organization formed through a settlement agreement with the Pennsylvania PUC, the Sustainable Energy Fund disbursed $2.2 million in funding for 946 sustainable energy projects in fiscal year 2013. The Fund also provides education on numerous sustainable energy topics.

Ms. Evers is Chair of Stevens & Lee’s Energy, Communications and Public Utility Group. She represents public utilities and other companies in matters before governmental and regulatory agencies, including the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and New Jersey Board of Public Utilities. She is a consultant on Smart Grid issues and is editor of the Smart Grid Legal News blog, www.smartgridlegalnews.com.

In addition to serving on the Sustainable Energy Fund Board, Ms. Evers is the Chair of the Energy Bar Association’s Demand-Side Resource and Smart Grid Committee. She has served as an active member of the Department of Energy Smart Grid Customer Engagement Working Group.

Ms. Evers is a member of the American Association of Blacks in Energy, the Energy Bar Association and The Forum of Executive Women, as well as a number of community organizations. She is a former member of Corporate Counsel Women of Color® and the Electric Regulatory Committee of the Energy Association of Pennsylvania. She holds a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and a B.S. from Northwestern University.
