Mark H. Anania, Elliott J. Stein and Kristen M. Harvilla Are Recognized as 2026 Leading Trademark Professionals in WTR 1000
PRINCETON, NJ, Feb. 5, 2026 – Stevens & Lee and attorneys Mark H. Anania, Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Group, Elliott J. Stein and Kristen M. Harvilla have been named as leading trademark professionals in New Jersey in the 2026 edition of the WTR 1000.
The WTR 1000 guide conducts comprehensive research to identify the leading trademark professionals who are considered outstanding in obtaining, protecting, managing, enforcing and monetizing trademarks for clients in a variety of jurisdictions. Mr. Anania is recognized in New Jersey as an advisor trusted by clients “to develop, prosecute, and maintain [their] portfolio of domestic marks for the global brand.” Mr. Stein is also spotlighted in New Jersey for his four decades of IP and trademark law experience during which he has “he has provided specialist counsel to a diverse clientele across various sectors, from development stage companies to large corporations.” Joining the rankings for the first time, Ms. Harvilla is listed among the “Next Generation” of rising talent in the Garden State.
Mr. Anania serves as Co-Chair of Stevens & Lee’s Intellectual Property Group. With his team, he provides strategic counseling to clients in every phase of intellectual property, from prosecution to licensing and litigation. Mr. Anania helps clients to develop IP programs designed to uncover, maximize and protect their intellectual property — with particular depth in representing institutions of higher education and nonprofit organizations. He assists these entities in navigating the complexities of intellectual property law, obtaining new rights from the USPTO and Copyright Office, proactively preventing or avoiding infringement, and leveraging their IP assets effectively within the unique challenges presented by academic and nonprofit settings. Within the legal community, Mr. Anania is a past president of the New Jersey IP Law Association and a published author and speaker on IP issues.
Mr. Stein has more than 40 years of experience providing legal services to enterprises that develop, market and utilize intellectual property. He has assisted a wide range of businesses from development stage companies to publicly-traded multi-nationals in the automotive, banking, computer, defense, e-commerce, energy, gaming, health care and software industries, including, more recently, in e-commerce, cloud computing and cybersecurity. Mr. Stein has assisted clients with data protection issues (including website accessibility under The Americans with Disabilities Act) and U.S. and EEA privacy laws. He is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Privacy Working Group.
Ms. Harvilla focuses her practice on a wide variety of intellectual property issues ranging from counseling to litigation. She advises clients in a variety of industries on domestic and international trademark strategy, licensing and enforcement matters including managing intellectual property portfolios for several prominent higher education institutions and non-profit organizations. She also has particular expertise counseling franchise clients in connection with their intellectual property needs and on the regulatory and other legal issues unique to franchise law. Her experience extends to representing clients in intellectual property litigation matters before federal district and appellate courts across the country as well as in Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings.
