Blake Marles is Co-Chair of Stevens & Lee’s Higher Education Group. He concentrates his practice on higher education and real estate.  His higher education engagements include mergers and acquisitions; governance realignments;. faculty evaluation; tenure and discipline; Title IX compliance; EEOC and DEI matters; student affairs, including handbooks, codes of conduct and disciplinary procedures; policies and procedures; NCAA compliance; Greek organization issues; and exigency planning.

Blake regularly gives legal, strategic and regulatory advice regarding educational mergers, acquisitions and restructurings. He has been involved in 12 successful institutional combinations in the education sector in the last decade and has consulted with institutions in 29 states, Canada and the U.K. about transactions still being contemplated, or in process.

In his real estate practice, he serves as lead counsel for projects as diverse as health care and educational campuses, international and regional business headquarters, multi-municipality planned residential developments, condominiums, ground leases, industrial reuses and commercial and industrial land developments.

As a lecturer and writer, Blake has written, taught and presented on behalf of teaching organizations such as the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), ACCU, the Council of Independent Colleges, the Pennsylvania Planning Association, the Pennsylvania Municipal League and the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors. He has authored land use material for the American Bar Association Journal The Urban Lawyer and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. He is a former trustee and board officer of Muhlenberg College and former chair of the Good Shephard Rehabilitation Network.
