Medical Staff/Physician Integration
We have extensive experience assisting health care providers with matters involving medical staff including working with medical staff committees and management in drafting and revising medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, credentialing policies and other related policies and procedures. We represent clients in medical staff-related litigation and assist with various investigations and hearings involving medical staff disputes. Our attorneys also assist with providers in connection with specific credentialing/re-credentialing processes and questions.
Our team also advises health care providers on peer review matters. We assist with protecting the confidentiality of the peer review process, in addition to responding to inquiries, hearings, appeals and litigation. We ensure that, when appropriate, investigation and fair hearing procedures are being properly carried out and assist with all phases of investigations and hearings.
Outside of the medical staff process, we provide assistance in drafting physician employment agreements and various forms of professional service agreements, assuring clients that the agreements are compliant with applicable regulations, including assisting structuring compliant compensation arrangements.
We work with health systems to develop strategies to enhance and grow relationships with their community physicians and employed physicians with a goal of creating a seamless experience for patients. These strategies include clinically integrated networks, accountable care organizations, recruitment strategies, joint ventures and co-management arrangements.
