The five lawyers, a paralegal and two staff members will be based in Basking Ridge, NJ, Stevens & Lee’s 19th office and fourth in the state.

“This is a significant moment for our bankruptcy and restructuring practice,” said Stevens & Lee President and CEO William P. Thornton, Jr. “The experience of these accomplished attorneys across debtor and creditor representations, complex Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court restructurings will serve our clients extraordinarily well.”

“This expansion also underscores our commitment to continued growth in New Jersey and to strengthening our ability to serve clients facing complex issues,” said Mr. Thornton.

Collectively, the team has represented debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, creditors’ committees, trustees and asset purchasers in Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 proceedings in courts throughout New Jersey, New York and the broader Mid-Atlantic region. Their experience also includes out-of-court workouts, assignments for the benefit of creditors, distressed asset acquisitions and bankruptcy litigation.

“Stevens & Lee’s ability to comprehensively serve business clients was the primary driver in our move,” said Mr. Stolz. “They have grown significantly over the last four years and are committed to providing superior client service across their Platform. We believe they are well-positioned for continued growth in the New Jersey market, and we’re pleased to be a part of it.”

Mr. Stolz has been involved in a multitude of large Chapter 11 cases throughout the country and recently led the representation of creditors in the LTL Management LLC and BlockFi Inc. cases, two of the nation’s largest Chapter 11 cases.

Mr. Rever represents debtors, trustees, creditors’ committees and creditors in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases and has filed, prosecuted and defended complex cases before bankruptcy and state courts.

Ms. Long, a former Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey, focuses on out-of-court resolutions, asserting creditors’ rights and supporting debtors through court-guided restructuring/liquidation proceedings under Chapters 7, 11 and 13, as well as Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABCs). She serves on the board of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC-NJ), a professional organization committed to the development and support of women in the insolvency and restructuring sector.

Ms. McDonnell focuses on bankruptcy law, insolvency matters and related litigation and provides strategic counsel to stakeholders in matters arising under Chapters 7, 11 and 13. She has served in leadership roles in IWIRC, contributing to advancements in professional development for women in the legal field.

Mr. Stone, an Associate, contributes to matters spanning bankruptcy, compliance and civil litigation.

Stevens & Lee continues to execute a strategy of focused growth in key markets, including the strategic build-out of practices that are critical to serving its business clients. The Bankruptcy Group expansion is the latest example of that approach.
